Cafe Con Leche is the hottest Manchester Cuban Band that recently been choose as supporting band for the last Buena Vista Social Club orquestra tour in the North region. The band is composed by Damien Castillo, singer from Cuba, Ivan Pavon Martinez, bass player from Cuba, Chris Manis, a latin master percussionist from England and Tagné Tebu, piano player from Cameroon. Cafe Con Leche will be playing salsa, son, cha cha cha, and a selection of songs linking their music back to its African roots.

Singer-songwriter, Emmanuela, is a professional live music performer. She facilitates singing workshops in community settings, and is available as a guest speaker around the personal experiences of immigrant asylum seekers and refugees on diverse topics. She also offers individual and collective professional development advice to artist musicians from all ethnic backgrounds doing non-mainstream music as well as she interprets French, Swahili, and Lingala.

Jakks has left the responsibility of the classroom behind and is now determined to fill her days with as much music and adventure as possible. She has been a member of Blackpool’s one and only Samba drumming band for the last 14 years and has now joined a second in Lancaster to add to the experience. She a WOMAD regular but her musical taste isn’t easy to nail down; as long as she can sing or dance to it, it must be good. Her passport is always at the ready even if recent travels include India, Cuba, Peru and the Travel since retirement has been to India, Cuba and northern Peru and in the last 12 months the Antarctic and the West coast of South America on a small expedition ship. As long as there is music and places to visit Jakks is happy.

Founded in their native North West of England, Merry Hell is an eight-piece folk-rock band with a history, a pedigree and a bright future. In four short years they have risen to become festival favourites, their first two albums finding favour with critics, broadcasters and music fans alike. They are continuing to develop an enviable reputation for the quality of their song writing, recorded work and live performances. The band was forged in the smouldering embers of 90s folk/punk band, The Tansads.

Eoghan Neff is an improvisational avant-garde Irish fiddle-player, composer and doctor of music. He continues to tour and record internationally as well as collaborate on various fusion and multimedia projects that include anything from electroacoustic improve collectives to Hollywood and European art-house film productions. Among many more accolades, he has toured extensively with Riverdance and the Anxo Lorenzo Band; recorded with the London Metropolitan Orchestra and Torrek; featured on the soundtracks of Cannes Festival winner Hrútar and Oscar-winner Kevin Macdonald’s feature The Eagle; as well as composed the award-winning score for theatre production Selkie and the half-million YouTube hit instrumental piece Return of the Eagle along with Atli Örvarsson.
